Has anyone ever seen a roadworker actually working? I use the motorways quite a lot and its full of roadwork being done BUT I have yet to see anyone actually doing anything apart from stand about and natter. I did once come across a rare sighting of one man operating a set of lights but since then Zilch!!

  1. I suspect that the road workers may simply be waiting for delivery of materials from a quarry or depot.

Unless you can observe them for a meaningful length of time, you should not perhaps be so quick to judge them.

  2. They always seem to be stood in a group yaking & they say woman are gossips.lol

  3. How can they be working on the roads when there digging for gold at the end of the tax payers rainbow lol.

  4. you ever tried working in the middle of a road? the pollution, the noise, the lack of access, bet you take some breaks during the day too..........

  5. I think there must be little road trolls that do the work when no one is around. But, I drive for a living, and think that the standard shovel has to be operated by 6 people, 1 to hold it upright, and 5 to describe to each other how he is holding it.

  6. Yes I have - seen loads in fact - seriously.

I am the daughter, niece and friend of the lovely guys who have no choice but to do roadworks.
