Liverpool boss, Brendan Rodgers, is adamant his side’s 2-0 defeat against Arsenal on Sunday had nothing to do with the playing style that he is trying to introduce at Anfield.
The Merseyside outfit stumbled to a 2-0 defeat at their own backyard, which pushed them down to the 18th place in the current league standings.
Earlier, the Reds suffered a 3-0 loss at the hands of West Bromwich Albion in the opening day’s action, and were held on to a 2-2 draw by Manchester City at Anfield.

Despite failing to record his first win in the league as Anfield manager, the Northern Irishman refused to accept the idea that his team’s poor performances off late owed to their inability to come to grips with his playing philosophy.
Instead, he blamed the players’ lack of judgement and lapse in concentration for conceding goals in a rather cheap manner, and bemoaned the chances missed by the forwards.
“The goals we conceded, it's got nothing to do with style, nothing to do with systems, nothing to do with the tactical element of the game,” he told the reporters in an interview.
“It's about decision making. We gave the ball away and then we didn't recover well enough to stop the shot. For the second goal, we had enough bodies behind the ball to defend the goal.”
However, despite the Reds dismal start to the campaign, the Ulsterman was confident they will be able to bounce back quickly. He also underscored that since they are currently undergoing a re-building phase, their slow start was understandable and they will
only get better as the season progresses.

“Raheem Sterling, I thought, was terrific today. Joe Allen and Cazorla were the two best players on the field, the two little guys, the technicians,” he added.
