Question:

Rogers Video Direct or Zip.ca?

I am currently a subscriber to Rogers Video Direct. I find that even though I have been a top customer and earned extra free rentals, I still do not receive the movies at the bottom of my priority list and never the ones I really want to see, until months later when I could have rented them at a nearby store by then.

I know Rogers Video Direct is owned by Zip.ca, but I am wondering if any one has had similar Rogers problems and found Zip to be better? Or is there some other online (Canadian) company that people have had great experiences with?

  1. I agree with you about rogers video direct... I receive alot of my bottom list movies. But I have found that checking a few times a week the list "now in theaters" to see if theres a movie on the list I want to see and adding to my list early while its still in theaters. When those movies come out on DVD, I get them alot quicker than I would if I add them when they come out on DVD. When I get lucky, I get a movie a couple of weeks after it came out on DVD.  How did you earn extra free rentals? I've gotten complimentary DVDs because they were late sending me my refill or because the top movie on my list wasnt sent after a couple of weeks (while having the priority option set to getting the top listed movies first that is) The main reason I love Rogers Video Direct is because there is no late fees, its convenient and sometimes the video shops around here don't have the movies that are hard to find but rogers does.
