  1. One of my favourite restaurants is "la fornace", which is in Via Angelo Emo 75, just behind the Vatican City.

    Have fun!

  2. In two weeks time you’ll be swept up in a July heat wave, so pack light, breezy clothes, sandals or open shoes and headware to protect you from the sun, unless you want a local baseball cap from Rome. Eating is no problem at all in Italy, there are so many snack bars and pizza parlours at moderate rates. One of my favourite restaurants near the Vatican is inexpensive and has an attractive  menu, with local fare,  it’s called the “Ristochicco” at  Borgo Pio 186 (web site www.ristochicco.com). Another of my favourites, where Romans go, is right next to the Circus Maximus,  Ã¢Â€ÂœAlvaro al Circo Massimo”, via dei Cerchi 53, Don’t go for a menu, try just one course, possibly pasta. It’s a good starting point to visit the Forum remains. Have a nice stay.

  3. The world's most expensive McDonald's is there in Rome. But I ain't paying seven euros for a hamburger! Your best bet is street food. For lunch eat something a vendor is selling. Its cheap and tasty. For dinner, find a nice little cafe that doesn't appear to be geared for tourists. Eat off the beaten path. Or, ask a local where he would eat. Thats the best bet.
