Real Madrid faced Levante in the Spanish La Liga as Los Blancos are trying to reduce the gap between them and their arch-rivals, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604.
The Catalan giants have drawn only a single game this season, and that too against Real Madrid. Therefore, they are currently leading the points table while Real Madrid trailing behind them and their cross-town rivals, Atletico Madrid.
The game against Levante was quite competitive and physical. Moreover, the rainy weather totally changed the mood of the game as the ball was barely travelling on the pitch and ruthless tackles were flying in from both the sides.
Amongst those tackles was one which saw http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ronaldo-c31734 and the Portuguese skipper had to walk to the sidelines in order to receive treatment which saw him getting his eye stitched and patched up.
The former Manchester United star then returned to the pitch and even found the back of the net despite not being able to see from his left eye.
However, he was taken off during the second half as Jose Mourinho did not want to risk his most favourite and prolific player, not only in terms of goal-scoring but also in terms of assists.
While speaking about his current fitness and his return to first-team duties, Cristiano Ronaldo said via facebook:
“Thanks for the messages you have sent me in recent days. I feel better and hope to return soon 100 per cent.”
