Manchester United’s http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Wayne-Rooney-c36736 has admitted that he is quite disappointed with the way the season came to an end and hopes to come back even stronger next time around.
United seemed to have won the league with just two minutes to go in the season. However, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Sergio-c33030 Aguero went on to score the match winner for Manchester City against QPR in the last minute of stoppage time and in doing so, he helped City win the league.
The win for City saw them win their first league title in over forty years, while it prevented Manchester United from sealing their twentieth league title.
Despite losing out on the title after coming so close to winning it, Rooney doesn’t seem to have given up hope, as he believes his side will come back even stronger next time around.
The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 international, when talking about the end to the season and what he expects from his side in the future is reported to have said: "We’ll be back, no worries about that, we’ll be back stronger."
He then talked about the unpredictable ending to the season, as he admitted he didn’t expect the season to end in the manner that it ended in.
“Of course, you wish it hadn’t happened like that for our fans," he noted.
"And for us as players, it was sickening really to lose the title like that.”
"Our fans were brilliant all day, even when Man City scored their first goal. We obviously knew on the pitch they had gone 1-0 up and we were also aware when QPR went 2-1 up.”
However, he admitted that after he saw the Sunderland fans starting to cheer, he knew that City had won their game and this was very hard for the striker and the United squad to digest.
Nonetheless, despite the loss to City, United need to realize that they only lost on a goal difference and hence, if they go on and come back stronger next season, they could go on and win the league.
It is now up to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alex-c4752 Ferguson and his steam to prove their worth and determination, as they look to win the league title next season.
