  1. If you are looking to really travel one way, a way out is to buy a round trip ticket in advance, and then not use the return part at all. That will have no consequences, and you will also have travelled on way.

  2. Round trips between Europe and the US are actually cheaper than one-ways.  That doesn't seem to make sense, but the reason for it is that on long-distance flights round-trips are often discounted, while one-ways are almost never discounted.  Airlines have all kinds of rules designed to get the maximum payment out of each traveler - the ones who pay the most are business travelers who have to fly on specific dates and don't care about the cost since their companies pay for it - that's why airlines really charge high amounts for last minute tickets.  Leisure travelers who might just not fly if the price is too high have to be lured into flying, and that's why they discount your flight if they think you are a vacationer - like advance purchases and saturday night stopovers being required for a cheap fare.  So if they allowed cheap one-ways between the Europe and the US, that would let people get around their whole pricing schemes.  (Like Ryanair forced major airlines to sharply cut prices on domestic European flights.)

  3. ok look at the one way price and then double it but add $2-$5 for tax and then look at the round trip add the tax money and compair

  4. One way tickets are cheaper, but, they are one way. If you would like to go back home then book a round way. It is less expensive for a round trip then it is for 2 one ways.
