Hey! Well my fiance and I both work at home and use vpn and we have been paying WAY to much for internet, we had to get a residential and business line so for internet alone we pay over $120. But if we can find a router that will hold 2 different IP addresses we can get rid of one of our internet lines. We could use a router and a switch but would much rather find a bad *** router. So any ideas where I can find a router and about how much it will cost. Thanks!!

  1. your isp has to allow multiple ips. most will make you a full account for each ip. i know at&t has the option for 4 ip's per acct but you'll need 2 routers or set one computer to not use the router as a gateway.

  2. i'm some what confused here ! why would you need two routers and two different accounts ? a vpn for both of you can be set up in any store bought router in a matter of a few minutes

    edit

what your trying to do CAN be done with one store bought router , it doesn't matter if your running 1 vpn or 1000

simply set the current static ip for one pc into the tcip settings of the nic card

  4. you would still need to subscribe to a lot extra for multiple addresses. You are better to just get rid of one line, then use a normal router and  set the appropriate ports for each connection. This is what all major companies do. You can handle hundreds of VPNs this way.
