  1. I have gone on several southern Caribbean cruises.  Baby Beach in St. Thomas is great!  I also really enjoyed the aerial trek/tree top adventure in St. Maarten or St. Lucia (these fill up early), and the Pirate Ship Extravaganza in St. Lucia.  Antigua has gorgeous beaches- it's hard to go wrong.  Dickinson Bay beach is one of the best.  Snorkling in Aruba on DePalm Island is also great (big blue fish).  Swim with Sea Turtles in Barbados.  If you're going to Tortola, take the ferry to The Baths at Virgin Gorda.  You will never forget the beauty.

You can book off the ship for many things too, especially if you're just heading to a beach.  It's cheaper and you can be on your own schedule.  Just grab a cab (they will be everywhere).

    Have fun!

  2. I agree with the pp.  Portofino on board is AWESOME!  The food and service is top notch!  It is however $20 per person but worth EVERY penny!  Yummy! Have fun!

  3. Don't bother booking your excursions ahead of time. A lot of the time weather can cause excursions to be cancelled, or not enough people sign up., etc etc. I've always stuck to signing up for them as early as I could once I was actually on the ship.

I've done eastern Caribbean through RCCL and that's as close as I can get to your southern trip. San Juan is a big city with lots to see and do. We opted for the rainforest, and I'll admit that I was a little disappointed. It was a neat excursion, but something didn't quite live up to what I was expecting.

I'm thinking sailing out of San Juan you will be on Adventure or Serenade of the Seas, am I right? I hope you're on Adventure! I've been on Navigator, which is a sister to Adventure in RCCL's Voyager class ships. They are absolutely amazing ships. Be sure to check out all the events in the Royal Promenade and don't miss the Welcome Aboard Parade or the Mardi Gras Parade. They are tons of fun.

Another don't miss on Adventure (if that's your ship!) is Portofino or Chops. I think only Portofino is open on Adventure. It is a nice little restaurant and the only place you'll have to pay an additional charge for food, but believe me, it is worth it! Some of the BEST dining on the high seas. Fabulous food. Don't miss the risotto!

If you're going to St. Maarten or St. Thomas, both are great ports to do some shopping. Liquor is incredibly cheap in St. Thomas so stock up. St. Maarten is great for electronics if you're in the market.

In St. Thomas, do the gondola ride to Paradise Point. It's got amazing views and a nice little hike at the top of the 'mountain'.

St. Maarten has some decent snorkeling at Pinel Island is you want to play in the water.

There's a few suggestions to start you off with! If you want any other ideas, feel free to contact me! You will have a fabulous time. My husband and I went on a cruise for our honeymoon and now it's the only type of vacation we ever take. You won't be ready for the cruise to be over!
