  1. That's because even after 800 years the " English" still don't consider us.  Up the tartan army. Sadly in reply to your question. They are consider both English and British............. Of course we could start up some sort of army against them and force them out of Britain. Some of my kin are Wallace, stupidly living in England. But what the heck.............Let me know :-)

  2. the royal family are European mongrels.  there's a bit of everything in them.  there might actually bit a bit of British blood

  3. I think that they would have been there if Scotland were in the finals as well.

  4. They are of German and English origin.  But Jimmy Stewart  was king of Scotland at unification in the early 1600's.

Liz is Queen of the United Kingdom, not just England.  If the Royals are attending the games on their official duties, they should do so for any British team.  If they are attending out of personal interest, that is their business, but they should be wearing civilian clothes and not be seating in a prominent location.

  5. Well the Queen is supposed to be head of the commonwealth but she always supports the poms over us aussies at cricket.

  6. Neither. They are all Germans and the royal family could trace their German ancestry all the way back to Electress Sophia of Hanover during the 17th century.

Queen Elizabeth II is a monarch of Great Britain including England, Scotland and North Ireland and Wales. The royal family is more associated with England in particular as they have ruled England for hundreds of years, where Scotland, Wales and Ireland (now only North Ireland) were conquered later by different English monarchs.

  7. They are english... All i can say

    Hope it helped

  8. they are german, but they changed their name when the going got tough.

  9. Well we have the Duke of Edingburgh , The prince Wales various other titles which relate to all the UK countries.

The princes were both born in England so i assume see themselves as principally English as no doubt you see yourself principally Scots.

If any of the other of the home countries had made it to the final I'm sure one of the royals would have attended ( even if it was just a token)

  10. It's common to all and thus is English, Scottish, Welsh and Northern Irish all at once, that's why it's the United Kingdom.

As to why the princes were in England shirts, it was the English team playing, not the British team. Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland were all eliminated in earlier rounds.

If it was one of the other member states of the union in the final no doubt they would have worn their team shirt.

  11. I couldn't care less what they are. Parasites.

  12. the queen is half German and half Scottish (queen mum was born in Scotland)  Prince Philip is Greek.  William have some English blood because of Diana

  13. They were born in England so they are English. England is a part of great Britain so they are British. It is a pity that some Scots will not accept that they are British and cling to this independence which if they were truly left to themselves they would never survive. The two Princes were showing some pride in having a British team in this Cup Final.

  14. It was the final. They didnt go to any other games. If Wales or Scotland were playing they would have been wearing the Wales or Scotland shirt. They are British and proud.

  15. I consider myself to be (all at the same time) a Dabber(native of Nantwich - ascribed to the salt works or tanning industry), to belong to Cheshire (county town Chester, to be from the north of England (although some claim south Cheshire to be in the Midlands), to be English (St George and the dragon etc.), to be British, a member of the United Kingdom, a European and a proud citizen of the world (and universe).

The royal family, with a fair amount of Germanic and Grecian DNA (amongst many others would, I am confident be happy to make similar claims to mine.

If others could be equally "flexible we might have fewer conflicts and learn both to help each other and to enjoy life to the full. (After all, we all have a short time only on this glorious planet!)

  16. German

  17. There all many different ones, and so are the relatives in the rest of Europe that still has a Royal Family. You see, the royal family today are a mixture of Greek, English, German, Spanish, Dutch- this is because in way back they wanted to keep royal blood strong so they'd be marrying into their own family who are princes, princesses, kings and queens of the rest of Europe.

  18. Hmm they are German in origin actually!

  19. They will say British but what they actually mean in English!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  20. The family is German in origin, so they're British only

Individually they're English if they happened to be born in England, or Welsh if born in Wales, etc...same as everybody else born in Britain.

Great Britain (or Britain) consists of: England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and any overseas territories, like: Gibraltar, Falkland Islands, and others.

A British person is not necessarily English, can also be: Scottish

    Welsh

    Irish

Born in a British overseas territory

Been born abroad with a least one British parent or

Been a foreigner that has acquired British nationality.

  21. British.  The Queen is of German descendency and Prince Philip was born in Corfu!  You would think that the Prince of Wales would have attended! (Charles).

  22. German...shocking i know but that's what i got told

  23. The royal family is english. They Live in Britian (british) one in the same really

  24. Well Prince Philip   is a German , But changed the family name to Windsor  when the natzis were waging war to distanc ethemselves from germany.

  25. I always thought that Great Britain and  England are synonyms. Now, a doubt has creeped in.

  26. They come from all different nationalities and some perhaps questionable as to whom came from whom.
