Hey, I was just watching a few rugby vids, and I noticed a bunch of players wear headbands.

And I was wondering, where I could get one? and what they're made out of, or if i could just make one?

  1. You can buy Rugby headband at

    http://www.amazon.com/gp/search?ie=UTF8&...

    Good luck!

  2. Most of the time they just use medical tape. Ask your trainer im sure he will get you one.

  3. its adhesive bandage wrapped around once or twice, followed by a wrap of electrical tape to hold it all together

  4. the headband is usually made of electric tape/ or mediclal tape wrapped over foam prewrap.  the purpose of the "headband" is to hold back and protect the ears.  usually second row/ locks, props, and soemtimes 8-men and flankers wear them to keep the ears from getting cauliflower.  cauliflower ear happens when the cartlledge in the ear breaks and ablood clot forms becasue of pressure and rubbing of the ear in scrum downs. a lot of people are now wearing scrum caps instead of just taping ears as an alternative.  i started wearing a scrum cap- the advantage is that the ear tape sometimes falls off or is too tight/ not tight enough... becasue im a woman- my hair got caught inthe tape a lot... and i just couldnt get the tape to stay in the right place.  the scrum cap gets hot though and sometimes feels like im getting choked.  the padding on the rest of the head is a false sense of security... i still end a game with my head bumps and bruises!
