What is it in a game of afl when the ref swings his arm then holds it half way, then one of the players does a rolly polly? just would like to know why is this?

I agree with the others answering, based on your question, reads like the ump is calling play on, advantage.

Im not too sure what it is your actually saying ......... but ......... it sounds like it could be the advantage rule (swings his arm half way)

The arm thing is a goal, where the goal umpire singals it or an advantage, and the player's is Akarmanas
