When I was a senior in high school me and my husband were dating. My parents thought we were being "disobedient" about SOMETHING, who really knows what. Maybe I wasn't cleaning their kitchen enough. Anyways, we were grounded from eachother for a whole month. But who really follows those kinds of rules? We didn't sneak out at night, or run away from home, we just "accidentally" went to the same places. Like picking up my little brother from elementary school, or the store, or church activities. I knew my parents offered me a lot--a home, food, protection--and I wasn't about to disrespect them so much to say I didn't realize what they'd given me. But, I did follow my heart a little...

But I think it's important to know WHY you want to run away. Is it to get away from pain at your home? Or is it just fool around with your boyfriend? My husband and I didn't have s*x before we were married, and I'm glad we didn't; I knew when we were together it wasn't about s*x. s*x with a boy is no reason to disrespect your parents. It doesn't matter how unfair they seem, you have to realize that they HAVE gone tthrough a lot for you. Even if it seems like they don't do anything now--tapparently they did at one point if you're alive.

Good luck deciding if you're going to run away. My advice--don't, unless you're being abused. If you can talk it out with your parents, go for it. Tell them how you're feeling. If they aren't the type who would listen, try staying with someone other than your boyfriend. If you stay with him, your parents will only think less of you. Choosing to stay with a friend instead will show responsibility and proove to them your real intentions.
