Question:

Running nausea? What to eat?

I'm fifteen and I run XC. Today, I was running hills about 9:00 this morning and I got really hot and nauseous about halway through the workout. It was about 85 degrees and very humid. I kept dry heaving but nothing ever came up. I ate a NutriGrain bar before practice. Any suggestions on how to curb the post-running sickness?

  1. I agree with the previous answer - It is the lack of water. Try to take a water bottle with you and drink it during the recovery period and it should help some.

  2. my friend had that problem he just gave up soda and now he's on the track team.

  3. Without knowing everything, and the way you talk about the temp. I suggest that your nausea may be caused by lack of water.  Next time you before you run a XC run, about 1 hour before drink about 500ml of water.  If it is a short race less then 5K then you should be having no issue.  But if you were going longer, I would consider carrying a hydration belt with a water bottle.  Then every 10 minutes have a small sip of water.
