Question:

Running shorts' little key pocket?

ok so alot of people have said their running shorts (like Nike or other brand) have a small pocket on the inside under the waistband that will fit a car key. However, mine is only about 2.5" long and 2" wide, which will not fit a car key (Toyota key with the big black rubber grip thing). My shorts are a Large in the kids size. is this why my pocket is smaller? Are the little pockets on the adult sizes bigger, and big enough to hold my car key?

  1. I have a toyota key (with black rubber grip) and it fits in my running shorts key pocket.  I just force it in and it stretches.  If you have a tie on your waist, you can always tie it on and tuck it in your shorts.  I've done this with shorts that have no pockets.

  2. The size of the key pocket was standardized way back when car keys were all the same size as house keys.  A few things that have worked for me are:

    * Get a key pouch that fastens to the laces of your running shoe. These tend to be a bit longer and you don't notice the weight of it, but you do have to get used to the slight increase in bulk on your foot.

    * When I run with a water bottle, I use a waistband water bottle holder. Most of these have zipped pockets, which are great for your key. But don't put a ring of keys in there, or the jangling will drive you (and others ) nuts!

  3. the pockets are the same size regardless of the size of the shorts. to get the key in the pocket you could have your key cut and put the cut key in your pocket, that is assuming that it doesnt have a rubber grip.

    hope this helped.(-_-)
