I was offered Ryan Garko for Johnny Cueto. What do you guys think of this deal? I am in first place and have great batting but need a utility player and a DH while Thome is sitting and in case he gets injured. I am in a deep league.

My pitching is hurting right now, however, as Marcum just got on the DL and Bedard isn't pitching great. My roster is as follows:

SP Erik Bedard

SP Ben Sheets

SP AJ Burnett

SP John Lester

SP Manny Parra

RP Jonathan Papelbon

RP Damaso Marte

RP Joaquim Soria

RP I'm going to pick up a middle reliever, as my league counts holds. Marcum was in this slot

Bench/DL: Shawn Marcum, Chad Cordero, Bartolo Colon, Johnny Cueto, Clay Buchholz, 2 empty spots for free agents

C Dioner Navaqrro

1B Mark Teixiera

2B Ian Kinsler

3B Aramis Ramirez

SS Jimmy Rollins

OF Pat Burrell

OF Adam Dunn

OF Ichiro Suzuki

DH Jim Thome

Util Randy Winn

Bench: Chris Iannetta, Ian Stewart

  1. Yeah I would take anything you can get for Cueto at this point.

  2. Johnny Cueto is too inconsitent. Some days he`ll give up 2 runs, and others 6, which explains his 5.19 ERA right now, you have a pretty good backups, but I`m sure you could find a good replacement for Cueto.

Ryan Garko is also pretty inconsistant and by that I mean his .251 average. Garko can be great and bad, so this is tough.

I say get Garko, you have a great bench for your pitchers, and backups are covered there, but your batting isn`t. Take Garko, beacuse when someone goes down he is a reliable backup till that person comes back
