1. How do I know the S-Video cable is the right one to buy to connect my PC to my TV .. The S-Video port has 7 holes but there are 2 lines and I dont know if that counts. Is PC to TV always a 7 pin?

2. After I get the cable what is the procedure to connect the PC to the TV?

  1. 1. All modern tv's and laptop's (after 2000) will have the 7pin standard S-video socket.

    2. What I did was:

    1. Plug both sides in (duh)

2.Go on the s-video channel on my tv and open properties on my computer (right-click on desktop)

3.On properties select settings and there is a window which has 2 blue screens. One which is solid blue and has a 1 on it and another which is dotted and is behind the other screen with a 2 on it.

    4. Select the number two and click on it and select attached.

5.Underneath there is a scroll bar and select your television there (Generic Televison) and click ok!

    6. Now...if nothing comes up on your television:

Right click on your desktop and select graphics option and then select (Output to--->Television) or if you want display on both screens select (Output to--->Intel(R) Dual display cone)

That is the method my friend and I would appreciate it if the best answer was awarded to me!

  2. S-video is a standard.  Any standard S-video cable should work.

There should be options in the display settings to get it to display on TV.
