SD Card Error Help?

My Sd Card always says "card error" when I put it in my camera, and my computer wont recognize it. I know formatting it usually fixes the card error but i really do not want to delete the photos. Is there another way to fix the error without formatting? if so, how? and do all cameras automatically delete cards they format?

This coudl help, make a quick format to your SD, then using a software like ontrack easy recovery you can try to recover, it's not for sure but it works on my camera when i deleted all my pictures.
