SEEKING: A laptop with glowing keys?

Im looking for a new laptop with a price max of 1400$ that has glowing keys in case I were to work in the dark such as on the airplane. I really liked the sony vaios but i wasnt sure wether the glowing keys were optional...

Although glowing keys are extremely cool and worth having as an extra on a laptop you already want, it's not a good idea to limit your choices to only glowing-keys models.  You should get the laptop you really want, and then if it doesn't have glowing keys or a built in light, get a tiny booklight or penlight and use that to illuminate your keys.  You can just use velcro creatively to hold it in the right position.

I' not aware of any, which doesn't mean they don't exist... However, Lenovo Thinkpad series have an optional "keyboard light" that is installed in the top of the screen that can be turned on and illuminate your keys for you.  I'm currently using the feature on mine as I type in the dark.

You shouldn't even be looking at the keys when you type (the home keys have little bumbs on them to help you find them) so backlit keyboards shouldn't exist.

well, at compusa.com thay have an 8 led usb light, e-bay sells e.l. lighted ps2 or usb lighted keyboards. with thin e.l. wire you could always customize your own laptop. just go to the laptop vender's site and download the service manual, will give you step by step dis-assembly instructions. you cam purchase e.l. wire and the driver circuit on e-bay

Oh, do Vaios have those keys with backlight? I thought only MacBooks had them. Some of them, I think the MacBook Pro and the MacBook Air have keyboards that have a blue backlight. If you go for a Vaio, there are some business class models that run for 11 hours or more on battery. There is also a new Dell laptop that runs for upto 19 hours on battery. But it must be expensive and I am not sure of glowing keys. It was surely a record-breaker. Can't you see the keys in the LCD's backlight?
