Firstly, i'm a guy and I have this problem for a very long time. When i hear other singers sing high notes or the chorus of the song, they will increase their volume. But whenever i tried to do that, my voice will sound 'constipated' or hoarse.

My friends said its okay but im not very sure, it would help if you provide me with a website that i can upload only my singing and let people judge me. please no myspace or youtube!

  1. Why would you take the word of a lot of strangers on the internet when it comes to something as important as singing is to you?

Why not ask your chorus director first - someone you can talk to and get direct feedback from?

If you have $35 or $40, why not hire a good music teacher for a single lesson and get his opinion? In just an hour, he can figure out where your breathing problems are (I suspect you're singing from the throat, not the diaphragm) and show you some simple ways to correct them.

It all starts with breathing. You have to know that first. Increasing volume to sing high notes isn't the answer - yes, a lot of people do it - it's easy that way, sure - but you also want to be able to sing high notes softer, as some pieces require.

As the other respondent said, those notes may not even be in your range. Are you a second bass, trying to hit tenor notes? That will only strain your voice - something you don't want to do.

I'd get professional advice. It's the fastest, safest thing you could do - I think you'll be delighted to see how much fun it is! Good luck.

  2. try photobucket.com and it depends on if your going through a stage in life when your voice changes so you won't be able to hit those high notes.
