Saab Soft Top Error?

My 1999 saab 9-3 has problems when raising and lowering the convertible top. It Will say "Soft Top Error"....The previous owner told me it meant that the sensor thought something was blocking the top from coming down into the trunk when in fact nothing is in the way. I believe the sensor may be malfunctioning. Where is it located and what can i do to solve this problem?

It is not that simple as people think. First the question is which sensor, there are many, which is malfunctioning. The quickest and the easiest way is to connect the car to Tech 2 and it will display the fault code which will in return pinpoint the exact sensor that needs to be replaced. It is not a DIY item.
