Sailors contract length?

Question

Hi,does anybody know if its possible that a company that a marine engineer is working for,petrolier ship,can keep that sailor on ship and keep posponing to send him back home though his contract time is over?what prb can be there on that ship so that company dont send that sailor back home and keep giving date to him but never send him back home?it is really possible this to happen?i really need to know,if anybody can tel me,i send many thanks by now.

Not likely, depends on the contract. Contact the seaman's union in your country, they will know who to talk to

contact the companies Human Resources Vice President. Don't talk to anyone less. If they won't talk tell them that you will contact their govenment.
