Salzburg at Christmas?

Hi Any suggestions on how Salzburg would be for a short holiday over christmas ?

I"ve been there though not over chrismas. It is a really beautiful city. The old parts are just the most romantic places. Mozart's birthplace etc......Simply stunning!!!!!!!!

The Austrians are great people, the food is amazing, there will be snow and of course everything will be made 'Christmasy'.

christmas is the very best time to be there!! everything is festive and very typically austrian!!!

u'll have lotsa fun as they'll have lotsa open markets and events going on to celebrate the season.. you can search for "advent salzburg 2006" and you'll find loads
