Same car as friend?

Question

my friend has a new scion tc. and i have wanted one. and am planning on getting one when i turn 18 (i am allowed to get a new car then) and i want it in the same color as her. not just because she has it but because i have wanted a scion tc for a while like 2 yrs. and i like that specific color best.

is this a bad idea to buy the exact same car???

do you think she will get mad???

should i not care???

Honestly, shes not going to have to live with the car, you will.

I mean, its not like shes the ONLY one with that color anyways.

Those cars are so populated, theres like a gazillion in the same color that other people have.

Buy the car you've wanted in the color you wanted. Really now, if she got irritated over that shes not your friend, just a dramaaa filled uhh. yeah. :)

Did she know you wanted that car and color before she got one?? If she did then she would be copying you. But if you get one then its kinda like you like her style and its a compliment but then she may think you are trying to steal her new car thunder. Dont worry about it though, maybe you will find another color you will like just as much...

We aren't talking about a handbag or article of clothing -- this is a car. It's a major purchase and you typically only get one shot (at least for a while). I know of a sad group of girls who must have all gone to the Mazda dealership and purchased red Mazda 3s together. These cars aren't elusive exotics, they're reasonable and reliable enough that their appeal is not limited to one member per social clique. If your friend has a problem with it, tell her there's more to her identity than her car. And the reason you bought yours is because you liked what you saw in hers (even if that's not the entire truth).

Worst case scenario, you get a vanity plate, tint your windows, add an accessory, change your wheels, etc. Do what makes you happy!

i think hers is probably an automatic, then get a stick shift just to differentiate.

or if she has sunroof, then don't get a sunroof

Hmm if my friend got the same exact car in the same color as me right after I got mine I think I'd get really peeved.  I'm petty I know!

You shouldn't have the same exact color, but it's ok to have the same exact car. They are quality and reliable cars.
