Has anyone adopted, gave birth to or known a child that is half Samoan and half White? What are the stronger traits? My little blessing will be this mix and I couldn't be more excited. Just trying to get an idea of who's feature's baby is more likely to get. Thanks!

  1. My sons girl friend is Samoan her features remind me of Hawaii...  Her brothers are large guys tall and stout...

Darkn hair, nice complexion and pretty eyelashes....

  2. I understand what you're asking..

I had a samoan roomate in college, and she was really cool...

But all I wanted to say is it would be TONS of fun to learn alot about the Samoan culture, language, and expose your child to it.. If I adopt interracially/transracially I know I'm going to have an absolute BLAST integrating parts of the other cultures into my family...

    two words in samoan

    Talofa (tah-low-fah) means hello

Fa'a fe tai (fah-ah-feh-tai) means thank you..

    Have fun and congrats!!!!!

The only traits I can say, physical or personality-wise, is Samoans tend to be tall, large-boned.. Your child will not very likely be "tiny" or "petite"  I fully understand that looks don't matter to you, it's just this is the only thing I'm able to tell you...

    CONGRATS again!!!

  3. My mums mother was samoan and her father was white

my mum doesnt look samoan at all

over her life her skin has gotten darker though

But other then that she doesnt look samoan but did get the brown eyes from her mum

  4. With any genetics it's a guessing game until you see the child.  Children get half of their gentics from one parent and half from the other parent.  You never know which genes from what parent the child will get.  There may be other races in the family of the Samoan parent that could be there also.

A friend of mine has 2 little girls.  Both are same father, and the father is of Mexican descent and physical traits, mom is a blonde hair blue eyed caucasion.  The older girl has dark olive skin, dark brown hair and brown eyes.  The second child has almost blonde hair, light brown eyes and light skin.  The same way a green eyed, red haired child with fair skin can be in a biological family of caucasion dark hair and brown eyed parents and siblings.

It all depends on what traits and genetics the biological parents have.

I would just plan on the child being beautiful.  That way you'll have an idea no matter what physical traits the child has.

  5. Genetics are a guessing game! My husband is Filipino, and our daughter has very strong Filipino features, olive complexion, dark hair and very dark brown eyes. Our son has gray eyes(mine are blue) and fairer skin and eyes!

Your baby will be beautiful, no matter what!

  6. I know a somoan boy who's mother is white & he's such a cute toddler.  To be honest it's really hard to tell what his ethincity is...I knew his mother was white but there is definitely a possibility of him being mixed with something else & found out his dad was Samoan.  He has a nice golden-bronze skin tone, thick brown hair & big brown eyes.

  7. I have a friend who adopted 2 boys, who are actually cousins, but born within a week of each other, and are being raised as twins to avoid some questions.  One boy is lighter skinned, and one is darker.  Quite frankly, they look just like their adoptive parents, who the father is Samoan, and the mother is italian/american with dark hair.  Both boys are beautiful, well adjusted, typical American kids, with all the wants and desires of any other child.  The looks can go any way though, even if the same 2 parents had 10 different kids, each would be different, and love what you get.

  8. Samoan genes are very strong, so I hope its a boy.... Samoans are beautiful but BIG and kinda of manly..( no offense to the Samoans)
