I will soon be taking my first trip to California. I've had trouble deciding whether to go to San Francisco or L.A., since both have obvious draws and both sound like a lot of fun. If you've been to either/both of these cities, please let me know what you think. Thanks!

  1. L.A. has more to do---FUNNER!

  2. most definitely san francisco! i've been to both. after just a visit to san fran, i decided to move there. there's so much culture! plus the weather is much better. the best time to go is in oct or nov. if you decide to go there, shoot me an email i'll tell you all the hot spots.

  3. If you have never been to either, go to SF. It is way more scenic and has the more interesting parks, bridges, buildings, etc. It also has a better transportation system; BART & cable cars are fun and efficient.

  4. I think that San Francisco is by far the best trip of the two.  It is a more laid back place that is very beautiful.  There are tons of sights to see....China town, Fishermans Wharf, Alcatraz, Golden Gate bridge...etc..etc...  It is a diverse town that has an ecclectic feel to it;.   It is also nice because the area also has the wine country nearby to visit and enjoy with lots of fine vinyards, spas, and restaurants.  Whatever you choose, enjoy!

  5. I've spent a considerable amount of time in both of them, thankfully I am now retired and won't have to ever return to either one of them. As much as I dislike the L.A. area, there are a lot more attractions there.

  6. I'm living in L.A but honestly I don't really like it very much. The only places I enjoy are Disneyland and Pasadena that's all. I don't like Santa Monica or Hollywood that kinda places. But I have no complain of being L.A er..

Been to S.F several times it's fun to visit the only down side was so windy up there.. but I do enjoy the downtown, China town, and the fishermen area (sorry forgot the name but the place that you can eat a lot of seafoods and facing the sea =)

Can you visit both cities since only 1 hour flight not too far away from each other..
