  1. Speed is always good.  (For internet)  not for video games over the internet or anything like that.

But it costs a lot because a satellite is involved.

  2. Download 'speed' is so fast as to be 'instant' .... however to get a web page you have to 'dial up' via your phone line and ask for it ..

So 'latency'  = the delay whilst it waits for you to tell it what to send next - is horrendous ..

    Get cable ..

  3. Speedwise, it's lots better than dial-up, but about half the speed of broadband.  Most satellite internet providers give you a choice (for a fee) of speeds.

If you have another fast way onto the internet, satellite is not the way to go.  It's way more expensive than broadband and not even close to the speed.  For areas without access to cable or dsl, you don't have much of a choice.

  4. mine was £800 to setup and £90 a month and then you have to pay for the licence to use it but it isn'tt really that fast think my download is 2,000Kbps fiberoptic is a lot faster, i only have it because there is no phone lines here
