Satnav systems - advice?

I am thinking of getting one for use in UK - so can anyone recommend a particular brand? I would need something that is very easy to use, has up-to-date info, and is as cheap as possible. Thanks in advance.

  1. As bluebottle says; look at Ebuyer and read the reviews.

I have just ordered this one for my son:

If it is any good, I will buy one for my car.

My wife has an RAC Satnav (cost £99 from Curries last year).  It uses Rout66 software and has never given wrong directions.

The only advantage I can see with more expensive systems is that they startup quicker and recalculate faster.  Oh! and you can download celebrity voices for expensive systems.  I haven't found expensive systems to be any more reliable in helping you navigate from A to B.

  2. We've had several and currently have a Nissan built-in one.  Our last portable was a Tom Tom and we reckon that was the best of the portable ones.

Our first was a Garmin which was more fiddly and "she" talked down to you as if you were a naughty 1st year.

Also had a Medion from Aldi which was pretty good and inexpensive.

  3. i have the tomtom one which i love and now couldn't do without

  4. Hav a look at this page it gives you a lot of choice and you can read the reviews from buyers .....

  5. Garmin...Hands down.
