what are some things you will do to save the environment and make it a better place?

Lobby for an increase in deer hunting caps. Local Midwestern undergrowth is, no joke, going extinct. Deer are supposed to be uncommon in these areas. In southern Indiana they are STARVING...TO...DEATH. We have to get that population down. And I'm not a hunter, just a naturalist who understands localized ecology.

Also, we need to stop thinking of forest fires as bad things. In most parts of North America, forest fires are ESSENTIAL to the survival of trees. They add nutrients to the soil needed for saplings to flourish where old trees have fallen. Remember, North American trees are flame resistant organisms. I giant beach tree can be untouched by a fire while houses around it are leveled. Most forests naturally have a fire once a year or couple of years.

The only way redwood seeds germinate is through the heat and nutrients produced through forest fires.

When people start stopping them in their early stages the dead foliage and matter start building up. Thats how you get blazes like the recent ones in California.

In high population centers, controlled burns NEED to be used to clear away that fuel. Thats what the naturalists in national parks do. Citizens of cities need to think about doing it as well.

And if you see a piece of trash, pick it up. A lot can improve by doing the little things.

I would help the community surrounding me.

People with careless minds have to go.

Like they need to be persuaded that being careless will not do any good for the world.

Picking up trash is also a grand help, littering should be prohibited and police need to spread through large citys. For example, New York. Did you ever go there?

Well, to tell you the truth it looks like a dump with a million of rodents.

There is to many people out there selling hot dogs, and pretzels.

All of them need to get a life.

You can make a club for cleaning up your neighborhood.

not litter, not smoke.  use gas-efficient vehicles.  recycle.  vote democratic so flips like bush don't try to sell away our national parks to the oil companies.

Recycle, any and everything possible.

Use energy efficent appliances/devices(Energy Star), and light bulbs.

Drive less and/or carpool.

Use non-toxic cleaning supplies.

Buy locally grown, organic food.

Take shorter showers, turn off water when brushing teeth/shaving. Take cooler showers.

Turn off lights, when not in use or not needed.

Unplug appliances/devices when not in use, electricity is still brought to the appliance/device even if it is off.
