Save docments on cd-rw?

I have documents that i want to save to a cd. I want to save the originals and type in additional information and then save that. when I type it and try to save it it keeps saying it is "read only" and won't let me save it. help!!!

  1. Try saving the originals first, before you make any changes.  Unless the documents are protected, you should be able to do that, but if you open up a document you received by email, it opens as read only.  You have to save it to your computer FIRST.


  2. Your document writer is trying to write the edited files to the CD.

    CDs, once written, usually can't be modified. What you will have to do is to make a save a copy locally on your C:\ or D"\ drive or home directory and then burn another cd with the edited files.

    A thumb drive or memory stick can be edited this way.
