Question:

Saving water & Global Warming?

Why are Scottish Water telling me to save water? Scotland is probably the wettest country on the planet. No reduction in water rates as well even if i do save, which i won't.

And while i'm at it, why didn't we suffer from global warming when we all burned coal in the 1950's?

  1. Scotland is probably the wettest country on the planet.

    yup, and likely to get wetter. its us sissy southerners are running out. maybe they want to keep the reservoirs full for electricity generation.

    No reduction in water rates as well even if i do save,

    we got a water meter and now pay about 1/3 what we did. (we dont wash much...)

    And while i'm at it, why didn't we suffer from global warming when we all burned coal in the 1950's?

    well, 'we all' was under 3 billion in the 50s, now its over 6;

    and 'we all burned' a good deal less per capita.

    the warming we are seeing now is from the build up of co2, from our coal etc. burning over the last 100 years, and stripping carbon out of soils, and deforestation.

  2. Why shouldn't you save water anyways? It's called being a good person, and not being wasteful. I save water, recycle, eat a lot of healthy foods and at the end of the day, I feel good with myself. Why can't everyone just care anyways?

    It doesn't matter if you are the wettest country, just save water. It's not that hard. :P

  3. i am really sorry but like have you even reached up the fact that we are going to run out of water soon. plus even if we weren't going to why would you not save water? like really. Global warming is no joke, i mean it, and when i mean things i really do.

    look around you look at who is harmed and sitting there in the streets. you are lucky to have such things and you don't want to save it. when we used water or we pollute it doesn't disappear it goes back in the water and it KILLS fish's and other living animals.

    by the way no to ruin your thrust but the water of the toilet and the pollute one too goes in mouth because you throw it away think that it won't come back but it will and we are the ones that are going to drink that water. even if it's a watery country one or the other day you will run out of it.

  4. global warming started so long ago. even when they did burn coal it just wasn't that big of a probably yet. and if we don't start saving water we wont have much of it left. all of our mountain water is melting and getting all muddy sliding down the mountain. we cant drink sea water unless they get all the salt out. and then we wont even have ocean water. so my point SAVE WATER!!!!! global warming is here and we need to take action.

  5. First of all, just because there is a lot of water doesn't mean you should waste it.  It costs money to collect and purify it and send it through the pipes to your home, and this is all paid out of your tax money.

    I don't see what global warming has to do with it.
