Scat Matt? help! 10 points

hi, i need a good way to keep my cats OUT of my loft i heard of a scatt mat? ihow much are scat mats? and can my cats jump over one? Will they hurt me if i step on them? Where can i buy theese catmatts? and is there any other things simular to scat mats?

I have a Sofa Scram.  It works quite well.  I kept it on the buffet where my plants are.  It's around $30 or a little less.

But your cats could jump over them unless you can set it up in such a way that they can't avoid walking over it.

If you can't, then consider Sssscat!

They are quite expensive and don't work that well. YOu'd barely feel them if you touched them. My cats just leapt over them. Someone else told use to lay down crinkled sheets of aluminum foil, which did the job perfectly. Cats HATE stepping on aluminum foil. Get the extra heavy duty kind and sort of crinle a litte, then flatten back out and tape down wherever you need it. Works great on sofas and in doorways, but you do need to put down enough so they can't just jump over it.

use bubblewrap in the area, or cat NO! on the area you would like the cat to stay away from.  Use behavior modifications like those, or a squirt gun.
