Question:

Schapelle Korby.....Guilty or Not?

I know it's a bit late but I just watched a documentary on her on HBO.

I am wondering what you Aussies make of her. It seems probable either way. The people she was closely associated with grew weed so it could have been possible she was involved. On the other hand, it would be lame for her to try to smuggle it in since it is risky so it could have been planted.

I believe the media put the last nail in the coffin since it pressured the courts to convict her to set an example whether she was guilty or not.

I have heard in Indonesia that there is a sect that smokes weed freely but forbids alcohol. Also, it is known that other groups actually put shrooms in their coffee. So it seems natural drugs are accepted there.

Hence, I feel the conviction is harsh if she was guilty.

What are your thoughts?

  1. She's guilty and the drugs weren't planted on her.

When Australians are issued with a passport, it comes along with very heavy warnings about the penalties for carrying drugs into Indonesia and other Asian countries.

There are signs all over the international airport with similar warnings.

She knew the penalties - she carried the drugs - she was caught red-handed - she should be prepared to pay the penalty.

    EDIT:

Did everyone see today's news that she's now suffering from depression? They took her to the beauty parlour (I tell no lie!), but the poor thing had a relapse as soon as she returned, so now she's in some sort of hospital instead of jail!!!

This piece of trash is having a lend of everyone and uninformed people all over the world are falling for it!

  2. She was found with the stuff in her possession.  Her "defence" was fabricated.  What else do you need to know?

  3. Schapelle Korby...never herd of her

Schapelle Corby....guilty....after what I have herd over the past few days, I have changed my opinion

  4. I still believe that you would have to be the biggest idiot on the planet to try and get what was found through 2 airports in Australia before it got to Bali, I still don't get why 'the cameras' don't always work at the airport, there are no real security checks for airport baggage handlers.  If you have ever smelled marijuana of that quality, I don't believe that nobody else smelled it in the boogie board bag, plastic 'space bag' or not.  I think sombody put it in in Brisbane, it was supposed to be intercepted in Sydney and somebody 'missed' it.  Whether guilty or not, I don't believe 20 years is fare, especially when rapists and kid killers get less.  Maybe we will all never know.
