Question:

School Problem.........a little help please!!?

Ok so i'm starting school in two weeks and today i had registration for school and i'm going to be a senior this year and i wanted to take 5 classes since i cant take 4 because i need 10 more credits in electives but the problem is i take the school bus since i live further away from the school and i will not be able to take the bus since i'll have 5 classes and wont be there after school when the bus comes so i have no way of getting home unless i take the city bus back or if my brother or my mom can get me when i get out of school which will be sort of complicated since i dont no if they can get me from school all of the time...........i am close to getting my license i had my permit for a long time now so i am a very experienced driver but i dont have a car and i probably wont get one till i graduate so i cant get myself from school and back...........what do you guys think i should do?...........this is my last year and i wanted to take as less classes as possible i have alot of credits i only need 40 more but my situation makes it hard ugh!.......please help!

  1. Goodness, school has changed a lot- and you need to consider ALL of your alternatives here, many of which you didn't mention.  :-)

    First of all, talk to your school counselor. There are many options today for taking credits through an online school or a correspondence school. You didn't say which state you are in, but I know of several states that run an online high school. And, many colleges now offer classes for high school credits. Your counselor should know which programs your school will accept credits from, and could point you to a giant list to choose from.

    I think doing classes after school through an online high school or correspondence school is the perfect solution. It allows you to take the bus home as usual, and still get the extra credits you need. And, you might even have more choices that your home school might be offering. My son just did this to graduate on time- he had one correspondence class through a local college, and one through the state's online high school. It helped him make up time he had lost from an illness.
