I am severely depressed and more then half the reason is because it's public school. Iv missed 8 days so far and they called my parents saying they are emailing me the absent and late list of mine. I dont care about it, I am totally unmovtivated and all I want to do is internet schooling but my brother is already doing that and they are yelling at him to go back to school. My parents dont care about my needs at all. What should i do?

  1. Divorce your parents and find new ones. Maybe you will get lucky and find some parents who live in a trailer, and won't give a d**n what you do.

  2. Try talking to them when nobody is yelling, and all is calm. Assure your parents that you'll do your work and make sure that you stick to that promise. It would be better than failing. I homeschool my boys and it's going well.

  3. If your parents are open to the idea; other options, and this would of course depend on your age or grade level; would be to study for your GED, work part-time, and start college classes early.

You do not have to go to college full-time right away, but that would be up to you.

This by the way is not "dropping out", it is choosing an alternative to regular schooling.

  4. Find something that motivates you and make friends at your school. I don;t think homeschooling is the solution.

  5. Sorry you are feeling like not going to school.  But as a long time homeschooling mom.......I would make you go.  And here is why.  I will NEVER, as a parent, allow my children to manipulate, bully and whine me into allowing them to have their own way.  My children learned at a very young age the lesson :   Do you ever get what you want when you whine and have a tantrum????  EVER?????    The answer is NEVER.

What your parents choose to do with your brother and his education has nothing to do with you and your education.   If you don't care, if you are not motivated, if you don't think your parents care about you then why in heavens would you think you would be successful at home.

You are NOT severely depressed, you are a big girl having a big girl tantrum because your parents and the school will not let you have your way!!!   And I agree with your parents.  And as far as "I dont care about it, and I am totally unmovtivated and my parents dont care about my needs"--tough.

What should you do?    Go to school and behave.  Perhaps if you mature a bit and start doing well, you will have a leg to stand on in the debate as to whether you can be even MORE successful in a home setting.

  6. depends what grad yoru in drop out and get your GED

  7. I think you should try to actually go to the school that you're supposed to go. just give it another chance. many other kids are doing it. it's not that hard. your parents want what's best for you . if that really doesn't work just tell your parents that you're not succeeding by going to a public school so you should try Internet schooling. that's what i think you should do.
