Science experiment???

does anyone know a science experiment a 12 can do for the science fair??not an actually experiment, but a question that can be answered by dong an experiment. help?

  1. I just suggested a demonstration to another person that you might consider. It shows that the earth is constantly jiggling like a bowl of Jello. These jiggles are called 'micro-seisms'. You see them on a seismograph tracing.

    Put a clear container on a table, fill it with water, and direct the beam of a small laser (from the hardware or office supply store) onto the surface at an angle so the spot appears on some distant wall or such. You'll have to figure out some way to hold the laser steady.

    The spot will bounce around even more actively if you tap the table. It will probably respond to footsteps and passing trucks, depending on how shaky  your building is.
