what's the highest scoring word to get at the start?

It is well known in Scrabble tournament circles that the highest opening word is MUZJIKS with the Z placed on the Double letter score.

3+1+20+8+1+5+1=39

39x2=78 (the first word is always doubled)

78+50 (for using all your letters)= 128 points

bezique and cazique each score 112 assuming the Z is placed on the double letter score.

The are all amzing opening plays, of course.

I don't know but I'd nominate "bezique". With either the Q or the Z on the double letter score, it would score 124. Bezique is a card game and it's quite fun. I've played it.
