  1. A lot of insurances are done on a credit basis ie they will charge you the years amount plus some interest and you pay every month on a rolling credit basis ie they just renew the credit every year. Because its credit they will check you file. All lenders can see the search. However it doesnt necessarily mean anything but lots of different searches may mean lenders will think your making multiple applications for credit. Most firms dont tell you they do a search, they dont have to. This is why those comparison sites are not the best way always to do business.

  2. it does sometimes fo direct debits as car insurance would be for a year but you are paying it month by month. all they are checking for is thatyou are not really in arrears or have terrible credit. it doesnt matter as long as you pay the payments.

i check my credit on Experian and you an find out your credit score there too. they say it is good to show you have credit or direct debits that you pay as opposed to no credit record at all. this will help you in the future if you took out a loan or bought a house as long as you dont miss payments.

  3. its called credit footprints every time you look and they offer credit then this will happen. Go onto martin Lewis website fantastic website helps will all kinds of money issues http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/

  4. In the U.S., you will normally see lots of "soft hits" for prescreened offers.  These don't hurt your score, but you can opt out by calling 1-888-5OPTOUT.
