Searching Taylor Descendants?

Question

I am searching for any information on Mary E. (Molly) Taylor, daughter of Jeremiah H. and Sarah Mays Taylor. Molly married W. J. Shultz and they lived in Decatur, Wise Co., Texas. They adopted a daughter, Lucy Ann Baily. Lucy was my great-grandmother. She died in 1957 and is buried in Oaklawn Cemetery, Decatur, Wise Co., TX.

there are TONS AND TONS of counties in the US, so hitting my personal favorite county is a huge bingo.

Your first stop is the Wise county genweb page. I have never seen a better genweb page anywhere. If someone sneezed in Wise county, they probably have it.  You also might want to sub to the Wise county email list.  There are also many family files at the Historical museum, however those are not online. Any research from there is donation based, since they struggle for any funds.

Any burial at all in Wise county is surveyed, and you can get the pics by email.

The Baily name seems familiar, I may have info in my own files. Are you looking directly for info on the adoptive line or Lucy herself?

Wise county is also one of the rare counties that does have ORIGINAL images of each census via the web site, meaning you can search those without going to ancestry.com
