Selling E books on E bay?

Question

Ok, has anyone actually made any money doing it? I'm intrigued as I bought an old computer from my friend with loads of E books on different subjects on it, I saw people selling them on line. I also have an e book that is currently selling for around £100 in hardback format as it is a specialist book. I wondered what are the copyright restrictions on such items?

Any advice or links to websites that can help would be much appreciated.

Hi, whist i was at college i tried this one.

you can not sell an ebook that has copyright, ebay are now very stricked with this you would be warned before listing any ebook about ebays policy towards copyright so it would most likely get removed before the listing has finished.

secondly ebooks that are free are open source ebooks, so they were written by people who believe such information should be free.

its not what you wanted to here, but unfortunately most of the ebooks on ebay originally started of as open source, and to prevent the buyer finding the book on line the seller will describe the book as little as possible whist make exaggerated claims regarding it informational worth.

there are many other ways to make a good side income on ebay even a full income. have a google for "making money on ebay" there is lots of good "free" (lol) information out there : )

An ebook will have copyright in exactly the same way as the paper version.

You do not have the right to sell someone's work without paying them for it.

more than likely they are all copyrighted and you selling them for profit is illegal

Ebay no longer or will no longer be allowing e-books to be sold on their site.

I doubt it, most e-books are available free online you just have to look which most people have already done.
