Send a bike in the post?

I am selling a mountain bike on ebay and dont know how to send it. Should i use a courier? If so, which one?

(its from cambridge to portsmouth)

  1. If you have to remove the wheels. It is worth putting spacers in the frame and forks as these can easily be damaged by a sideways force.

    Simplest way is a treaded bar cut to length with 4 nuts. Or use an old bike wheel axle.


  2. Go to your local bike shop and ask them for an empty bike box (they are usually in the dumpster).  You'll have to take off the wheels and handlebars, pedals etc.  Ship it via UPS it might cost between $30.00 - $80.00 depending on weight.  You better hurry or you will get a negative feedback.  Your local bike shop will probably box it for you but will charge a fee.

  3. iv just recieved a bike off ebay,  parcelforce 48,  it will prolly only cost you about £20,  give parcelforce a ring 4 prices--  otherwise DHL

  4. There's quite a few couriers on eBay you might want to look at. I don't think they're that epensive.
