I cannot find in depth information about this anywhere. How likely is it that Earth could end up like Venus as a result of climate change?

Please offer answers backed with scientific evidence.

  1. try using google scholar to search for scientific journal articles.

  2. Probability = 0.0

  3. It could (in thousands of years), but we won't let it get that far.  Long before that, the obvious damage done by global warming will force action.

The question is, will we fix it now, when it's relatively cheap, or later, when it will take everything we've got.

You can see various scenarios for warming here.  If they kept going, we would eventually get like Venus, but look at the temperature rise and you can see how long it would take.

  4. It will never happen. There is no way earth could reach the same levels of greenhouse gasses that Venus has. Our planet is a negative feed back system when it comes to CO2. Further more, i would like to day that NO ONE knows what is going to happen to our planet in the years to come. There are way to many factors to consider.
