Setting up a Network?

I want to eventually set up a network between my desktop computer, which is a dual-boot of XP Pro and Vista, and my Macbook, which is a dual boot of Leopard and XP Pro, and was wondering what exactly I am going to need to set it up. Thanks in advance, Graham.

I presume you will also want to access the Internet on both.

Procure a switch / router.  The pcs support TCP / IP and all you need to do is follow the directions.
