Question:

Sharp pain near abdomen?

Every once in a while, I experience a sharp pain in my abdomen, a little to the right of my navel. This has been occurring on and off for years, and it gets a lot worse after a day of twisting, turning, and bending at work (I'm have a few jobs... a cashier, dishwasher, and sandwich maker).

About a year or two ago, I had surgery on it. They called it exploratory surgery. Pretty much they just went in, and thought that the reason of my pain was a blood vessel that was rubbing up against a nerve, so they moved it out of the way and closed me back up.

The pain lessened, but never really went away. I don't know if what they did worked temporarily, or if the numbness of that area post-surgery did the trick.

Anyway, has anyone ever heard of this happening before? It's a very sharp stabbing pain about two centimeters to the right of my belly button.

Since I haven't died yet, I don't think it's my appendix.
