  1. Wash them seperately. Use "Wrinkle Releaser" that you can buy at a grocery store. Squirt it on the wrinkle and smooth it with your hands an no more wrinkle.

  2. The only time I've had that particular problem was when I bought inexpensive sheets and no matter what I did they still were wrinkled.  I bought a cheap steam iron (was on sale last year for 20 bucks) off of qvc or hsn which works wonders for large fabrics like curtains and I suppose sheets if I had that problem.  I, too, despise ironing and in this day and age we really shouldn't have to in my opinion.  If the wet or damp washcloth trick doesn't do it then it most certainly is...cheap sheets plain and simple.  They may not have been cheap but obviously the fabric is of lesser quality; you don't always get what you pay for.  I always wash my sheets seperately from everything else because inevitably something will get caught in the fitted sheet!

I personally love cotton sateen sheets and will never go back to ordinary sheets again; you can't beat their soft suppleness against your bare skin.  Do let us know what, if anything, works.

  3. You need a high thread count. The silkier the sheets, the less they will wrinkle. You may have to iron them.

  4. Use these.  They really work.  You can get them at Target or Wal-mart.  Be sure to use fabric softner as well too.

Edit:Perhaps you should get 4 balls.  I think that its the fact that they are heavy and they have these bumps on them that separate the threads.  Also, REMOVE immediately.  If you don't, put a wrung out wash cloth in the dryer with them and add five more minutes.
