What is the best setting for fireworks on my Sony Cybershot (DSC-S700)?

I've heard to use Slow Synchro Flash, but im not completely sure what it is?

I've also heard that i need to turn Macro ON (WHAT IS MACRO?!) , turn the ISO to the lowest level (WHAT IS ISO?!) and turn it to Burst instead of Normal Mode.

Some help, please?

thanks in advance :)

  1. macro is a setting if you want to get close up to things, like flowers and the like. most cameras have this and it allows you to get 10-2cm away from the subject

ISO is a number that indicated the lenses sensitivity to light. Say you have iso 100 that is for pictures in bright light, high iso (400 or more) is for darker pictures.

also the higher the number the faster the shutter moves so if you want to get a picture of a fast moving object like a car or something you could use a higher iso.

if you want to make firework pictures turn your ISO down low, so it can get all of the firework in one picture (if you know what i mean)

  3. I think your camera should have a fireworks setting built in.Forget the technical and let the camera do the work for u.

  4. No macro.  No flash.

  5. You will need a shutter that will stay open for a longer setting than 1 second.

I want to try that as ell tonight.

I will have my ISO setting on 400 with about a 15 sec shutter.

You want toi open the shutter as the firework is on its way up. so you can catch the full burst.

I really don't think a cybershot can give you what you need.

  6. most cammeras have a fireworks setting in it. at least modern cammeras.

you should try to explore the settings of your cammera a little more, or look at the cammera manual that came with the cammer that tells you how to work the cammera and other things.
