Shorting a stock with Vanguard

Hello,

I am a novice trader that is trying to short a stock with Vanguard as my broker. My question is, how do I short a stock with Vanguard? My only options from the trade menu are Market and Limit. Thus, I am confused on how to do this.

In order to short a stock you have to sell it, without owning it.

You also have to have a margin account.  You will have to contact Vanguard to change your account to a margin account if you qualify.
