You can...

1. Develop a quicker release.

2. Shoot above or behind your head.

3. Elevate more on your jump shot.

4. Throw in a shot fake, take a dribble to the side and shoot.

5. Be in a ready position to shoot before you catch the ball so when you catch it you just gotta go up with your shot.

Oh a 1 on 1 fast break...

"Anytime your shot can be blocked or bothered, take off on 2".

So anytime that might happen, jump stop, (would be a good idea to shot fake), then go up on 2 feet.

Most likely your defender will jump in the air and you'll get smashed and go to the line, or you'll get him in the air and he won't be able to block your shot when hes on the way down and he'll be off balanced.

truthfully you should probably pass the ball to someone not covered by that player....but if you must take the shot anticipate his move...set him up with something that he likely to take the bait on then do something different
