  1. no i wouldnt recommend it i had two guineas a male and female, they mated. i came home from school one day and the mother had eaten her babies. she had blood all over her face, it was horrible. so if you do breed them you have to watch them all the time nonstop!!!

  2. well i would if i was u!i think it would be cool!!

  3. No. You shouldn't.

In what way have you "checked up with a vet?" And how are you a previous guinea pig breeder? You don't sound as though you know enough to have been a responsible breeder. You say in one paragraph that your parents would never let you, and you're going to secretly breed them and trick your parents into thinking they were already pregnant. Then in the next paragraph your parents said you could and you're a guinea pig breeder? If you were a guinea pig breeder I don't think you'd need our advice here.

If they were purchased from a pet store, that answers the question. They should not be bred. If you don't have your parents' FULL permission to do it and to keep any guinea pigs you can't give away, DO NOT breed them.

You should NEVER EVER breed animals just because you want to. Or because babies are cute. It's unfair to the animals. How much money to you have set aside in case something goes wrong with the birth or the babies? Do you care so little about your guinea pig that you'd risk its life just for some babies? There are plenty of guinea pigs out there. Don't.

  4. Well, think about it, are you going to keep them or sell them? If your going to keep them, will you have enough room. Also, if your going to sell them, do you think your find it hard to sell them?

Personally, i think it's a stupid idea. but yknow.

  5. No.

    No, you shouldn't.

It's not fair on the babies who will be abandoned somewhere, since your parents don't want them to be breed and therefore won't buy you anymore cages. No-one will buy the babies either because they're easy and cheaper to get from a pet shop than from some irresponsible twelve year old.

Also, guinea pig pregnancy can be fatal for mum and babies, and it's not as simple as letting her give birth.

Sorry, but it's a PET, not a breeding animal.

And I bet it's from a pet shop- you should NEVER breed pet shop animals as their genetics are unknown and you don't know about possible future problems.

It's immature, and it's irresponsible. They're not endangered, not hard to find, don't need help to keep up their population...there's no reason to do it and put your parents through stress and finanical concern! You're not going to pay if the babies/mother get sick and need help- they are. You're not going to pay if you need another cage- they are. You're not going to have to watch the babies when you're doing something else- they are.

So don't be so d**n selfish and breed what is meant to be a /pet/, and also affecting your parents who clearly don't want your guinea pig to have babies.
