  1. First of all, count the number of times you will be using the camera and if it is somewhat limited, then check into "renting" your dream $900 camera from a nearby professional camera sstore.  In the long run, you will not be owning an obsolete piece of camera equipment when you consider the fact that camera technology is changing all the time.  Save your hard earn money by "renting," NOT "owning."

    Good luck!

  2. Wow, NO, big red flag! Get an inexpensive Fujifilm, Kodak, Polaroid, or Canon Elph.

They are compact, lightweight, easy to carry on a neckstrap, are chock full of features like Effects, zooms (digital, optical, and macro), and will not break you if it is lost, stolen, or damaged. Get a 1 or 2 GB card and snap away!

  3. for beginner if you really want a dslr...

Nikon D40 6.1MP Digital SLR Camera

    Price : $468.75

  4. Y in the name of fried beans would u spend 700 dollars on a camera?

  5. You want to spend 80% of your money on a camera?

If you like photography, buy a used high quality film SLR and lens for under $100.  Some types, like Pentax, some Canon lenses, are compatible with DSLR bodies. So when you have more money you can buy a DSLR bodies and use the same lenses.

  6. if ur not into pro photographing y don't u spend the same amount of money or even less on a very good camera phone (5MP or even 8MP) & nowadays mobile phones r combined with an mp3 player so with this money u can buy 3 in 1, a camera, a phone & mp3 player.

  7. Do you already own a point-and-shoot camera? Have you taken photos before?

If you're completely new to taking photos then I should suggest not dropping $700 on an SLR and instead get a high quality point-and-shoot for $300. You'll save yourself some money and it'll give you a chance to decide if you really like photography.

If you know you're in to photography and that you will use your SLR then you have a few options. I would suggest looking at the Nikon D40, the Canon XS or the Canon XTi. Alternatively you could go on Ebay and look for a 20D. All of those cameras should fit in your budget.

If you do get an SLR you should think about taking pictures for your yearbook committee. I know that my high school committee would have killed to have some one experience in SLR use.

  8. If you are a person who is careful of things and would use the neckstrap, and keep it in a case when you aren't using it, AND are interested in learning about photography, then I'd say to get it.   But if all you want to do is snap pics of your friends and goof around with it, save your money and get a good point and shoot.

Go to a good camera store and check out the cameras in your price range.  See which one feels the best in your hands, and is the easiest to use.  You will know when you hold it which is best for you!

I would recommend the Canon Rebel XTi.

  9. There is no indication of what you are going to be using it for. By advice is no. With your budget I would suggest saving most of that money. At most I would buy a camera under $200. There are many good ones in the Canon PowerShot series.
